How many hangers are needed for one door leaf
Just two hangers should always be used. Extra hangers do not provide any extra weight capacity and can cause operating problems.
I have a 300 kilo wooden door, what components should I use.
Select all the components from the K-300 series
At what spacing should I install the brackes
The normal bracket spacing is one metre, i.e. on a 4 metre length of track 5 brackets would normally be used. This spacing should be reduced to 0,50 mts on doors weighing over 500 kilos. A jointing bracket should always be used wherever two lengths of track are joined together.
Can the track be mounted directly to the ceiling with screws or bolts?
Yes, this can be done with tracks K-030, K-040, K-050, K-060 and K-075. On heavier tracks brackets should always be specified.
Can the track be welded directly to a steel lintel?
The tracks should never be welded directly to the lintal. Welding brackets should be used for this instead.
What is the difference between a jointing bracket and a standard one?
The standard brackets are used to hang the tracks from the wall or ceiling. Jointing brackets have two locking screws for holding two lengths of tracks together.
What is the difference between a track stop and an end clip?
The stop is limiting, or stopping, the door movement. The end clip is stopping the horizontal movement of the tracks. It also stops snow, dirt and other objects entering the track.
What is a bottom guide?
The bottom guide system is designed to prevent the lower edge of the door from swinging from side to side. It also keeps the whole door leaf running in a straight line
Why is a bottom guide system necessary?
A door that swings or moves sideways can damage the sliding system or the wall. The guarantee is not valid without using a bottom guide system.
Why can’t nylon hangers be used outside?
Nylon hangers cannot withstand extreme temperature changes
What maintenance does a sliding door system require?
Helaform sliding door systems are completely maintenance free. Hangers are lubricated for life and with the correct installation they will work year after year without any problems.
Can the hangers support high temperatures?
K-150, K-300 and K-500 series hangers are all capable of supporting temperatures of up to 300°C. K-100 series hangers are available with both standard and heat resistant bearings. The heat resisting ones have the reference code "HOT".
Can the hangers be used with fire doors?
Series K-150, K-300 and K-500 hangers are perfectly suitable for use with fire doors.
Is there a sliding door system for glass doors?
In our product range there are glass clamps for glass doors with thicknesses of 6mm, 8mm, 10mm or 12mm glass
Can the sliding door systems be automated?
For automated systems we recommend upgrading by one series. i.e. a 150 kilo door should be hung using components from the K-300 series.
Are stainless steel gears available?
The basic components are available for the K-150, K-300 and K-500 series manufactured in stainless steel (AISI304). Stops and bottom guides are not available.
